Rooibos tea is also known as “red bush tea”. Rooibos is made using the leaves of the South African Aspalathus linearis, so it is an herbal tea, rather than a tea in the traditional sense. Rooibos is high in antioxidants, which can have positive health benefits. Traditionally, rooibos tea is made by fermenting the leaves, which turn reddish brown. Rooibos is often drunk in the same way as black tea, possibly with milk and sugar.
Rooibos does not contain caffeine, making it ideal for decaffeinated tea lovers, as well as for drinking in the evening without fear of losing sleep.
