The Hippies coffee blend is made mainly from beans grown in Sidamo, Ethiopia. Africa’s famous Great Rift Valley has long been considered the likely birthplace of coffee. It is here that the lush, green Sidamo coffee-growing region is found, where many different varieties of indigenous Arabica coffee beans grow wild on the hillsides. Guatemalan beans grown in the volcanic soil produced by the active volcanoes Acatenango and Acatenango are mixed into the batch. The coffee has a mild, easy-drinking, balanced flavour – like the 70s all over again!
