Congo Kivu Organic has received a notable cupping score of 86 and comes from the unique SOPACDI (La Solidarité pour la Promotion des Actions Café et le Développement Intégral) cooperative in the Tsheya-Minova village in the Eastern D.R. Congo. The cooperative was founded in 2003 and its mission is to empower local smallholder coffee farmers, especially female farmers who have endured the civil war. At the moment there are approximately 7000 farmers of which around 1500 are widowed women.
