Juvencio Lopez is a first-generation coffee producer living in the town of San Antonio Huista. During the harvest Juvencio picks only the ripest cherries, requiring three picking passes on the farm. The cherries are depulped the same day as picking and fermented in water-filled plastic tubs for 24 hours. After the fermentation the beans are washed and eventually dried on a patio in the sun for about five days. FOB price of the coffee was 2.55 $/lbs.
