Kenya Tano Ndogo has gotten its name from the founders of the co-operative: three brothers and their two neighbours. Tano Ndogo is Swahili and means “small five”, which refers to the number of founders. They joined their small coffee farms in the early 2000 and this year their coffee was rated the fifth best in East Africa Taste of Harvest competition. The coffee has been grown in Western Kenya, Kiambu, the neighboring province of Nairobi.
The flavour is clear and balanced, acidity that of apples and the aftertaste has tannins. In nuances there are cranberries and vanilla.
