Isidro Pereira bought the farm in 1967. Since then, the estate has moved on to be managed by his son, Luiz Paulo. Under Luiz the estate has increased production and focused on higher quality coffee. Amongst other things, the farm pays their employees bonuses every time the crops get more than a 80 point score in a cupping. The infulence of Isidro Pereira on the coffee production of Carmo de Miñas region is significant. Nowadays, it’s known as Sertao Group and Fazenda Isidro Pereira is one of its major estates, which deals with other farms’ coffees as well.
Normally a coffee berry has two seeds. When there is only one seed, the shape is rounder and it goes under the name peaberry. This Brazil Fazenda Isidero Pereira Peaberry consists of several natural processed, peaberry varieties, which is suitable for a single origin espresso, but fares exquisitely as a filter coffee, too. The aroma has milk chocolate and dried berries. A round and balanced coffee, clear and short aftertaste.
