Slurp Light Costa Rica
Roger’s Coffee
Roaster: Roger Snellman
The Tarrazu region is divided into three parts: Dota, Tarrazu and Leon Cortes. Estanislao Ureña Mora introduced the coffee to the region and gave the coffee beans to his brother Jose Ureña Mora. Shortly afterwards, Ramon Blanco built a laundry station in San Pablo de Leon Cortes. In 1929, a washing station was also built in Santa Maria. At that time there was so much uncertainty about prices that farmers turned to the National Bank. The Banco Nacional had a department where they could get recommendations for processing their own coffee. And thus the Coopedota R.L. cooperative was born!
