Holmen Coffee

Roasted: 10/05/2019
Roaster: Junho Suzuki / Arnd Brockmüller

This years’ Holmen Hanami we wanted to be more like Finnish spring, early summer and the pure joy of it! The fruitiness is less citrus-like and more forest berries, sweet apple, with hints of pepper and a little bit of self-grown tomato fruit. All the smells and tastes of late spring and early summer we so love!

All Holmen coffees are smooth, easy to drink, made with love and passion and all developed to be truly enjoyed at every occasion. All our coffee-names start with the letter H and all names match the idea behind the coffee. We believe all coffees have to be authentic and there is always a story behind them. Every coffee is different because tastes are different, days are different and people are different. Just like us, the Holmen Coffee Crew!

The Wahgi Valley in Papua New Guinea grows some of the best coffee in the world – or so they say. The coffee-growing started there only in 1920 with seedlings coming from Blue Mountain, Jamaica. Nowadays the coffee-growing in that area of the world is dominated by micro-lots and small-hold farmers, pooling their coffee harvest. Sigri Plantation is the only bigger farm in that area allowing for a homogenous and high quality throughout the bag. The farm has been founded in the 1950s and supports actively not only local education and environmental projects. It also has for itself a very strict environmental codex to protect endangered animals and plants of the area. The coffee is well-known for its sweet and fruity tastes of hickory, mandarins and marzipan.
