Primavera Decaf
Record Coffee Company
Roaster: Mattia Spiga
The coffee comes from several small farmers in the San Antonio Huista region, whose crop alone has not been sufficient to produce single origin coffees. Our partner Primavera has supported these farmers by combining the coffees to make a great blend in traditional coffee and now also in decaffeinated. The DCM (decaf methylene chloride) method has been used to decaffeinate the beans, which uses methylene chloride to dissolve the caffeine. The beans are then exposed to hot steam, which removes the solvent. Finally, the beans are dried and cooled and packed in jute bags for delivery.
