Kahwe Dark Espresso
Kahwe
Roasted: 15/04/2019
Roaster: Joel Marttala
Great taste is above all, the most important thing in a cup of coffee. It must also be fair and ethical. The farmers of this coffee have gotten fair compensation for their work. Respect towards farmers is the most important thing to Kahwe and when you know the coffee is ethical, fair and fresh, you can enjoy your cup free of guilt.
This coffee has some notes of chocolate and nuts due to the 80% Guatemalan beans and the fruity acidity from the 20% Colombia. The coffee has been roasted until near the second crack, so it is not too roasty. The coffees have been roasted separately and combined after.
As a roaster, I respect everyone’s unique flavour preferences and don’t want to dictate what a perfect coffee should be like. Cultural differences are vast on each continent, but this coffee highlights what I, as a roaster want from an espresso. Thick mouthfeel, low acidity and fresh fruitiness make this blend extremely unique. The flavours of milk chocolate, caramelized almond and cherry sweetness bring to mind a dessert.
