The name of this coffee is a reference to one of the country’s highest mountains on the slopes of which the coffee is farmed. On average, the land is rather flat in Cuba, and an elevation of 1000 metres is exceptionally high for a Cuban coffee. The Cubans can produce an astoundingly high quality coffee in such low elevations. The low altitude is present in the coffee also in the form of a relatively low acidity.
The Cuban government controls the coffee production and only the highest quality coffees are exported.
Cuba Turquino’s aroma consists of gentle smokiness and the taste reminds one of great Cuban cigars.
