Guatemala Saqulew Organic
Pirkanmaan Paahtimo
Roaster: Tuomas Roschier
This organic coffee comes from Guatemala’s renowned coffee producing region, Huehuetenango. The soil in this region is exceptionally non-volcanic and dry. The high altitude climate is blown by hot winds from Mexico. This minimises the risk of frost and creates a local microclimate in which the coffee berries ripen slowly and intensively. The coffee berry pulp, a by-product of coffee processing, is an excellent biological fertiliser for coffee plants. The coffee has a medium-body with a freshness of red-skinned fruit, a subtle chocolatey note and a light nuttiness. The coffee is roasted slightly darker than the medium roast. Organic coffee from the Huehuetenango region is suitable for the Moccamaster, the aeropress and the press pot.
