Montecristo is a large coffee plantation and nature reserve. Lushly forested as part of the Peñas Blancas Massif the area forms part of the Bosawas Biosphere reserve. Carefully handpicked on the farm, cherries are taken to the wet mill, washed, depulped and fermented. The wet parchment coffee is then transported to the Las Nubes Dry Mill where drying occurs on shaded raised beds for a period of 10 days. Nicaragua Montecristo coffee is a high-quality variety known for its balanced flavour profile, medium to full body and smooth texture.
