Here you can read more about our SLURP rare coffees.
STANDOUT COFFEE
Standout Coffee is one of the first SLURP rare partner roasters. The roastery was co-founded in Stockholm, Sweden by multiple-time barista champions, Alex and Oskar. They curate the most limited micro-lots, rare coffee varieties, and experimental processing methods – offering their global community of coffee lovers the chance to experience the most exclusive coffees in the world.
“We want to build a global coffee community and elevate the home coffee experience by roasting coffees that will alter your perception of what great coffee can be. We believe that the coffee experience should be accessible to everyone, regardless of where they live or what their budget may be. That’s why we’re dedicated to building a global coffee community that brings together coffee enthusiasts from all walks of life. Our mission is to elevate the home coffee experience by roasting the highest-quality coffees from around the world, carefully curated to suit a wide range of tastes and preferences. We want to change the way people think about coffee, by introducing them to new and exciting flavors that they may have never thought possible.
We are passionate about the art of coffee roasting and take great care in selecting only the finest beans from renowned coffee-growing regions. Our team of experienced roasters then expertly roast each batch to bring out the unique flavours and characteristics of each bean. Our goal is to create coffees that are not only delicious and satisfying, but also complex and nuanced, with a depth of flavour that will leave you wanting more.”
MANHATTAN COFFEE ROASTERS
“We’ve always believed coffee should be something special, and this simple thought moves us every day to source smarter, roast better, and delight more people again and again.”
Manhattan Coffee Roasters (est. 2017) is based in The Netherlands harbor city of Rotterdam. Run by long time coffee professionals and competitors, Ben Morrow and Esther Maasdam have set up their roastery, focusing on mind blowing and exceptional coffees, unique and small lots with close cooperation with producers. With a combined experience of more than 30 years in the coffee industry and many competitions under their belt, they’re now focussing all their drive on sharing competition coffees with the world.
“With Manhattan we are striving for sweetness and provenance. We love to work with producers and traders that are as excited about their product and the future of coffee and it’s people as we are.”
19GRAMS
“We first opened our doors in Friedrichshain in 2002 under the name Tres Cabezas. Back then, Specialty Coffee wasn’t a topic the locals really talked about. So our goal was to educate our customers as to the importance of Specialty Coffee, not only in the quality of the coffee they were drinking, but also in the lengthy supply chain, where knowledge and understanding of the product treacle all the way down to farming, processing and cultivation of the raw product.”
19grams works with farmers from all over the world who use innovative and sustainable farming techniques to grow high quality, delicious coffees we know you will love. In 2018 they rebranded the company name to 19grams with a cafe in Friedrichshain. They have three other cafés; one in Kreuzberg and two in Mitte, where their new roastery and training lab is located, right in the heart of the great city of Berlin.
“Rich, sweet and clean is what we strive for with every batch of coffee roasted at 19grams. To start, this means sourcing the tastiest coffees we can get our hands on from all over the world. Either from producers who we have been working with for many years or from ethical importers who connect us with farmers who are producing beautiful coffees that we haven’t discovered yet. Balance is an integral part and coffees with naturally high acidity (yes that’s natural in many beans) will be roasted and developed so the sweetness, acidity and body of the coffee is in perfect harmony.”
