ROST & Co is a roastery located by the sea in Lauttasaari, Helsinki, whose name derives from the Swedish word for a roaster. The impact of the different origins of coffee on the taste of coffee fascinates ROST, which led them to set up their own roastery in 2016. ROST is passionate about coffee and respects the raw material, and sourcing raw beans from responsible partners around the world.
More ethical and sustainable coffee
ROST & Co is a pioneer in building sustainable and ethical coffee culture. Social and ecological responsibility must be taken, both in values and in everyday life – now and tomorrow. ROST coffees are roasted with a Loring Kestrel S35 roaster, which consumes about 40% less gas than traditional roasters. As a result, the roasters greenhouse gas emissions are 40% lower. A more gentle roasting process also preserves the delicate and complex flavours of coffee better and at the same time reduces roasting loss.
In ROST’s selection, you will find both light and dark roasted coffee and espresso beans as well as filter coffees with charming taste profiles. The versatile range includes well-established blends as well as complementary fascinating Single Origin seasonal coffees. Harvest season series coffees are always from micro-farming farms and are sourced through Direct Trade or small raw coffee merchants.
As a roastery, ROST wants to enable and support sustainable coffee cultivation and production. That’s why a lot of their coffees come from Fair Trade and organic coffee producers. At present, more than 80% of the production is both organic and Fair Trade certified. Because ROST coffees are ethically and ecologically produced, you can enjoy them with a good conscience.
ROST & Co is partnered up with Slurp on SLURP original coffee experience.
