Homemade Pumpkin Spice Latte
🍂☕️
Pumpkin Spice Latte is a coffee drink made with traditional autumn spices (cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves), steamed milk, espresso and often sugar, topped with whipped cream and this “pumpkin spice” blend of autumn flavours. This recipe differs from the traditionally known trendy drink in that instead of espresso, this cold day treat can be made homemade with filter coffee! The recipe was shared with us by Anna, a barista at Kirjalan Kahvipaahtimo.
2 portions
– 4 dl milk
– 4 teaspoons of sugar
– 1 teaspoon vanilla sugar
– 3 dl brewed medium filter coffee
whipped cream
biscuit crumbs for garnishing
For a vegan version, you can replace the milk and whipped cream with a plant-based alternative 🌱
Pumpkin Spice (enough for about 4 servings)
– 2 teaspoons of cinnamon
– 1 teaspoon cloves
– 1 teaspoon nutmeg
– 1 teaspoon ginger
– pinch of black pepper
Mix the Pumpkin Spice ingredients in a small jar.
Make filter coffee and divide into two large glasses or mugs.
Place the milk in a saucepan and add the sugar, vanilla sugar and 1⁄2 teaspoon of Pumpkin Spice.
Heat the milk to about 70 degrees, do not boil, so as not to damage the protein in the milk.
Pour the flavoured milk over the coffee, garnish with whipped cream, biscuit crumbs and a dash of pumpkin spice.
Enjoy 🧡
