Cafe Nazca
Roaster: Pasi Pelkonen
This special coffee comes from a superb growing area in the second deepest gorge in the world. In the Colca Canyon landscape, a group of small farmers work on the steep mountain slopes to produce excellent coffee. The growers belong to a cooperative called the Valle Inca Association, which has over 200 members in the Colca region. The difficult accessibility of the area is illustrated by the fact that the cooperative’s agronomists travelled 9 hours by mule to collect the coffee from the farmers, who in turn travelled 12 hours by mule to a pre-arranged meeting point.
