Java is one of the oldest coffee producing regions in the world. People from the Netherlands planted the first coffee bushes on Java already in year 1699. Blawan is one of the most renowned coffee estates owned by the state on Java. The estate is located on the Ijen plains. Owing to the growing altitude, the volcanic soil, rain and climate the region produces high quality coffee.

In the light roast from Mokkamestarit the espresso exhibits interesting nuances of pear and vanilla. Acidity is low.
