FRUITS AND CHOCOLATE

MILD, PLEASANT ACIDITY

The dream of a better life made Antonio Andrade Pereira Filho and Maria and Maria da Conceição Costa Pereiran invest in a 90 hectare coffee farm in the city of Carmo de Minas. In year 1971 they planted the first coffee plants in the city where the coffee production was on the rise.

At the farm, the coffees consist of many varieties that range from citrusy fruits to bittersweet chocolate. Due to the excellent and nuanced taste, Irmas Pereira has fared well in many competitions.

In the high lying area of Carmo de Minas, a lot of coffee is grown. Despite the sunny weather, the temperatures are mild and the rainfall is consistent throughout the year. The unusual weather conditions ja compatible nature make for perfect growing conditions for the coffee. The coffees of the area share qualities of a sturdy base and a little above average acidity. Carmo de Minas’ economy is based on farming and the coffee produces more than a half of the area’s income and employment.

Pulped Natural processing demands a lot of precise work and special handling. As specially trained workforce is a requirement to achieve this, more cost is accrued. Nevertheless, the result is a clean cup rich in taste that does not lack in complexity.

The roastery Turun Kahvipaahtimo has succeeded in capturing an astounding array of flavours in the beans that make for a very nuanced and rich taste in an espresso.
