Kahiwa Coffee Roasters

Paragon is a blend sourced from Capricornio, Brazil, and Finca Caviflor, Honduras. Currently, it’s the only blend in Kahiwa’s selection. The Brazilian coffee serves as the base, bringing a pleasant chocolatey flavor profile, while the naturally processed Honduran coffee from Finca Caviflor adds a cranberry-like acidity, giving the coffee a crispness that’s sure to wake you up.

The coffee comes from the small farm Sitio Santa Catarina in the province of Pedralva, Brazil. They farm a small five-hectare farm in the Pedralva highlands. Every year they experiment with different cultivation methods and the result is always fascinating!

To maintain unparalleled quality, the community works closely with farmers, providing them with training before each harvest.

Snövatten (snow water) is a mouth-watering coffee from the slopes of the Andes. It is the coffee from where the mountain climate ends and the Amazon rainforest begins with its tropical humid climate. The crystal-clear meltwater of snow-capped peaks gives the place its name – and the coffee its taste.

#15 Sumatra Mandheling

#14 Lempeä Hehku

Coffee grown by the third largest community in Brazil, Cocatrel Cooperative. The coffee that tastes best with filtering equipment carries a smooth mouthfeel and a balanced sweetness. Hazelnut and dark plum flavours are crowned by a marzipan aftertaste.

#13 El Salvador

Roger’s Coffee

Caramel, dark chocolate, nutty

The current owners of El Molino, Jose Antonio Jr and Antonio Salaverria, inherited the farm in 2011. The culture and success of El Molino is based on the farm’s meticulousness and selective picking. After picking, the coffee is processed at Beneficio Las Cruces in nearby Santa Ana, then packaged and shipped. This coffee shows incredible stability in terms of reliable flavours and cup brightness.

#12 Finca La Sur

Kahiwa Coffee Roasters

Grapefruit, cocoa, clove

Produced by Juan Ramon Alvarado Rodriguez, this light roast Costa Rican coffee serves freshness of grapefruit, the body of sweet cocoa with a lovely after note of cloves. This coffee was the official competition coffee of the Finnish Aeropress Championships 2024. Mika Kuusisto brewed it best and is now the reigning Finnish Champion!

#11 Diego Campos Colombia

Diego Campos represents the younger generation of coffee farmers. Through his victory as World Barista Champion in ’21, he became his country’s coffee ambassador. Diamante’s coffee farm is located in La Plata, Huila. The farm grows several varieties of Arabica and this batch is washed Pink Bourbon.

#10 Huehuetenango Guatemala

Guatemala’s rich, mountainous and volcanic soils provide numerous areas for growing high-quality coffee. Perhaps the most famous of these is Huehuetenango, an ancestral site where the mountains rise up to 3,850 metres, providing ideal microclimates for growing a variety of quality coffees.

This naturally grown coffee comes from La Exportadora Familiar, an association of small farmers founded in 1991. The Intibucá region (department) is located in the midwest of Honduras. The region has 13 different coffee-growing areas and almost 6 000 farmers and their families.

#8 Rwanda

A classic pure African coffee that offers clear nuances. The brewing process should be approached in the same way as for washed Kenyan or Ethiopian coffees. This coffee is the result of the hard work of women farmers in the region. The rainforest and soil surrounding the farms is very volcanic which gives the coffee a unique flavour.

#6 Santa Helena

Felicitas Ñahuincamasca Huillca has been growing coffee since the 1990s and has built a life for herself and her children through dedication to her work. Today, her adult children work alongside her at Finca Santa Elena, where they manage 10 hectares of coffee plantations, including the Typica variety featured in this batch. The family carefully hand-picks the ripe red coffee berries and processes them directly on the farm.

#4 Sidamo

Sidamo is the region where coffee is believed to have originated. Coffee is grown at an altitude of 1900-2300 metres, which gives it a light sweetness. Sidamo coffee beans have hints of citrus, berries and lemon, giving them a more acidic flavour.

#5 Pusupuisto

Lehmus Roastery

Chocolate, roasted caramel, light apple

Pusupuisto, which means Kissing Park, is Lehmus Roastery’s most popular coffee. It’s a little darker than the medium roast, but still packs a lot of flavour into the cup. Thanks to its full-bodied mouthfeel, it works well with or without milk. The coffee comes from the famous Huehuetenango coffee growing region in Guatemala. The coffee grows very high, which adds a rich sweetness to the cup!

#3 Kenya Sirwo Estate AA

Sirwo Estate is a family-owned farm in the area of Kitale, on the slopes of Mount Elgon, established in the late 2000s. In this area of western Kenya, rainfall is more consistent than in many other parts of the country, and this estate also benefits from volcanic soils. These two factors, combined with selective picking and special attention to harvesting and post-harvest processes, create unique Kenyan specialty coffees.
